A Toyota wrecker would be your best bet![]()
Hi guys, not sure if this is entirely tech but not sure where to ask.
On the weekend ...ever so randomly...the accelerator hit the floor and stayed there....
Turns out the linkage from the accelerator to the...umm...throttle snapped.
Wish I knew some terms here so i didn't sound so clueless. But basically there is an accelerator cable, goes through the firewall and has a connection to a spring loaded horizontal part of the throttle. It's just a plastic piece that sits over a little metal ball...connects the accelerator cable to the mechanism that leads to the carbies.
Where do I find a replacement piece?![]()

you'll be wanting a whole cable also...
also, try toyota and see what price they have.. i'd rather have an $80 new one than a $20 old one that could also break...

AU$TRALIA... come and stay and PAY and PAY!!! The moral high horse of the world!
Adjust it so that it is on its TB stop & the floor at the same time for WOT, so that there isn't extra space on the floor that'll overload it.
These things should almost never break.
Gave the Stefan from the Qld Toyota Celica Club a visit and turns out he had the piece. It was as simple as screwing off the old and screwing in the new. Be damned if you want to find a wrecker with a ta22 in qld though.... and everyone seemed to look at me with a stupid look on their face when I wanted a new piece.
Its funny because it's not even like I was under heavy accelleration or jabbing the accelerator..was cruising happily at 100km down the Ipswich Motorway and stopped...peak hour traffic didn't enjoy it at all...got me on the radio though![]()
