injector wiring

do injectors have a positive and a negative? if so how do determine which terminal is which? for aftermarket computer (haltech) and 7mgte injectors?

usually the thicker wire is the "positive" and the other thin wire is the "negative". Full colour for positive and striped colour for negative, though, Sam who builds the razorback ecu's for ae86 plug and play has told me that it doesnt matter if you cross them around as its only to switch it.

Injectors dont have a positive or negative, they are switched circuit which switches when grounded. Just wire them up either way around, common power rail is useful.

EDIT: Also read the wiring diagram on the Haltech site, it is very good (unlike some other aftermarket ECUs *cough* leb).

yep like takai mentioned they can go either way. I tend to try and wire them all the same though IE all the + to one side of the injector ( say left terminal) and the all the - on the right terminal.

This wont make a diff to how the injector operates but can be very usefull down the track when problem solving knowing which wire / side of the injector is the positive and which is the neg
