If you can't afford a Supra, it's unlikely you can afford the Chaser and the 2JZGTE conversion. There would be very little in it cost wise.Originally Posted by BigZ
I've been thinking of getting into a 2jzgte as they make bulk power without the need of strengthened internals. I can't justify the cost of a supra when I want to spend a fair bit on modifications and can't afford both. Plus I like the look an 4 door practicality of the chaser.
I've asked one performance place and they said a 2jzgte will go into a chaser without any changes to engine mounts etc and that to get it passed pits shouldn't be a issue. Is this true fellas?

Its possible to get a jzx100 here for about 15k and I can source a 2jzgte front cut for about 3-4k and I have someone to help me put it in (if said conversion is as simple as i heard) so I'm up for the modification costs more so than the conversion cost. Also its more likely to be a jzx90 mrk2 than a jzx100 as I think theres a problem with putting engines older than the car in I believe??
So i assume you think the car and conversion is only going to cost 19k? Add a few more k on top of that.
wats wrong with the stock chaser engine, plenty of power to be made and a strong platform..

Would people stop assuming and actually answer my question, YES I know you can get a supra for 23-25k but not what I want. I havnt set an exact bugget but will maybe I can if I get an actual answer for my question
And yeh BeRad have considered it but I'd like 500rwhp+ which I figure could possible work out cheaper on a 2jz conversion. IF i get an answer to my question

It was a fairly simple question I asked and only needed someone with the knowledge to answer, I don't understand your problem as I was not trying to show an attitude, but reacting to sarcasm shown. And your reply wasn't directly reffered to gianttomato.
its hard to get direct answers to genuine questions these days. If someone thinks of somthing uncommon they get deemed a dreamer. Don't get it

oh boys, we got a live one here
chill mate, you wont get far on toymods with attitude.
what are your goals exactly? 500rwhp thats easily pit-able? thats gonna cost money. an engine conversion thats done, passed, and then modded? thats illegal.
the pure mechanical question of 'will it fit' is easily answered - its the same family engine! it bolts in - but if youve ever had any experience with engine conversions youd know this is the most insignificant part. engine mounts, oem or fabricated are easy. the 500rwhp is the bit that should have you, your wallet, and the engineer shaking their heads
chaser or supra, the base platform will make no difference in this equation youre trying to create - theyre both going to cost damn near the same. that argument is irrelevant

Probably won't do all the mods in one hit but I have a mate whos an importer who may find me one already moddified (half cut) to use. Basically I have most my bases covered as far as knowing the right people are concerned. I will take it over pits standard than chuck on aftermarket parts afterwards.
Attitude? Don't think I fired the 1st shot or retaliated harshly
