What are you going to run it with?
Im after an ISCV and its associated assembly that i can bolt straight onto a plenum chamber, and all the bits, ie valve, seat, intake tube etc etc are all contained inside the 'bit' that i simply bolt onto this plenum chamber...
the reason is specify 'all together' and 'bolt on' is that many many ISCV assemblies i have seen incorporate parts of the throttle body ducting, have some part cast/machined into the oem plenum, or some other 'cant bolt it off, and bolt it onto my custom plenum - and have it work' problem...
therefore: does anyone know of any ISCV assemblies that are their own little units, complete in themselves, that i might be able to bolt onto a custom plenum im making, and work with minimal issue?
for example- i found this hanging off (i think) an sv21 camry
not too sure how it works (anyone with an SV21 want to commet/explain?!) but it looks like it might be adaptable...
cheers y'all

What are you going to run it with?
Well most of those types of ISCV's are stepper motors. They have 4 coils inside...and the ECU control's the pulsations to each coil in order to make it move inwards or outwards.
Would you like a wiring diagram of mine one? (i think the 2vz one is a better design than that btw)...i can take some snaps of it later if u like?
Kind Regards,
Kurt.

Dr Ed - what you want is an XF falcon ISCV. These are PWM controlled, have two wires (12V and switching earth, like an injector) and a nice simple two hose outlets for you to attach some rubber vacuum line to.
Very commonly used with Autronic ECUs, and recommended by several tuners as the easiest to work with.
here's a piccie:

...... butt scratcher?!
I also scored one from a ZL fairmont (of about same era as the XF falcon)
These ford (bosch) valves are also found on some euro cars - tho some bolt directly to the plenum.
You can also get a three wire version of these valves:

Ed, after looking at my ISCV i'd actually advise you to go against it and get the ones that thewitzl and thechuckster have reccommended. the reason being that even though the actual iscv can separate entirely from the TB, its acutally relies on several ports etc and it might be more trouble to adapt to fit than the aforementioned versions. if you do want more pics of a camry one, let me know and i'll take pics of it inside.
Cheers
karl - cal that be mounted remotely??Originally Posted by The Witzl
it looks like simply line in and line out? being able to mount that remote from the plenum with a bit of plumbing would be perfect!

ed.......if you want something mounted remotely you could consider the stepper motors that LPG computers use....they normally have a thru pipe with an in and out and the pintle basically closes up the gap in the thru pipe.
i've got one at home let me know if you want a looksee..

yes - you just use boost-safe hose.
4AGE 20V has the same setup as the XF one above.

That's what I was gonna say! They're perfect for running with ms... But cheers for the info on the XF one, Karl... Somewhat more common than 20V ones.Originally Posted by CrUZida

... i thought the 20V one is a 3-wire "push/pull" type, as opposed to the simple 2-wire open/close PWM type that the XF falcoon has.... ?Originally Posted by CrUZida
I'll post a piccie up of the two side by side tonight
They are most definitely boost friendly, blacksupra's MZ21 uses one that I pinched from piccies for him, and is run off his Autronic.Originally Posted by 3t-RA40
I too am going to be using one on my 18R-GTE. I've got about 3 of the things sitting at home... i make sure to collect one from Piccies everytime i visit![]()

20V is 3 wire yes.
From what I understand they are failsafe too, so a spring keeps them open and PWM closes them.
