w58/r154 shifter compatibility???

hey guys just wondering if anyone knows if a w58 shifter can be used in an r154???
the look very similar

Yes they can, provided they're both internal shifters of course.

internal?? i`m talking about the actual shifter with the gear knob on it... i`m not sure what you mean

there were a few different shifter types on both gb's. The ones off late model jz's for instance had a remote setup that brought the shifter back a fair way... compared to the jza70 where the shifter was directly mounted to the extension housing. These would be considered internal versus the late model remote shifter's being external/remote.

Yes, that is correct. The point being, a W58 shifter to suit a JZA80 Supra (external) won't work in an MA70 R154 (internal).
