thanks guys that is big help. now I can pimp my ride.
nargh joking but I will be buying rims for the hilux and attemping to lower the torsion spring on the front and leaves on the rear.![]()
if anyone has advice on that feel free to share
to get the rear lower flip to tops leaves on top of the load leaf. Also chase some 2" lowering blocks, Torsions are easy just keep count of how many times you unwind the first side so it sits even.
ok that sounds piss easy.
its weird cause my lux had a full back on it (think its called cab chassis) now its a tray back. the tray sits really high compared to cab chassis hilux. so I am going to put wheels on it and just lower it enough to sit tastefully on 16" wheels. plus I do carry big loads so I do want it practical
check the mounts, the might have a spacer to make it sit higher.
The problem you'll get with lowering on a tray back, is the pure lack of wheel clearance.

Those wheels at the back are 295/50R15, which is the same diameter as the stock hilux wheels (just a lot wider), and its sitting on reset springs, about 1" off the stock bumpstops...
The only thing stopping the wheels touch the tray is the bumpstops.

yeah my tray seems to sit very high in the air to the point where I cant see out the back properly with the edges on the tray. I have heaps of wheel clearance so I think I will lower it a bit. will see what happens cause as I said I do put heavy loads on it. the ute has a low front high rear looking stance. and the tray is on a bit of an angle higher at the rear.
I know the tray is aftermarket cause it still has a quick release for the fuel flap on it and an after market fuel cap.
