Default Positive Charging Systems - Pro's and Cons

i just picked up a GReddy "Positive Charging System" which apparently is supposed to regulate voltage constantly in the car and keep it stable so that things like my amps/subs dont drain the crap out of my battery and make my lights dim with every doof doof doof...

however im a little skeptical about it. to me it sounds like an overglorified capacitor.. I want to know if anyones had any experience with these things before i chuck it in. Im not looking for something thats going to increase power because i know this wont do it at all, just something merely to regulate my voltage to a bit more stability than before..

    Thoughts?

If you have voltage supply problems I'd suggest upgrading the cabling/earthing and even get a bigger battery.
Possibly even get the alternator checked.

You'd have to have a seriously large stereo, or possibly 2 very inefficient 15" subs before you should have any problems.

Its just a large capacitor bank. Its similar to those Raizin voltage things you can get.

A capacitor in an electronics sense is just a dampner, it can absorb voltage fluctuations. Larger has more reserve but slower to respond, compared to smaller caps which is the opposite.

the Raizin for example is 5 or 6 small capacitors, in a small box, with a nice LED to let you know its connected. Thats about it.

its only a small bridged kicker... 200W RMS i think off memory and 1 12" kicker comp on it. i think wirings playing a small part in it, but i want a quick fix temporarily before i go tracing every wire trying to find the source of power drain. im also using a 600cca battery now. small issues i have in similar fashion are like i turn on the lights before starting and the dash is quite dim, then crank it over and start and a few seconds later the dash gets 20% brighter. alternator is charging it, but it whirs at a reasonably high pitch sometimes.. you could be right with grounding there..
