Hello, what product would you all recommend on assisting with sealing the threaded barb pipes that screw into the fuel pressure regulator?
I'm having some issues getting the new Sard FPR to seal up on the threaded pipes.
Cheers
Joel

AU$TRALIA... come and stay and PAY and PAY!!! The moral high horse of the world!
i used regular plumbers thread tape on my brass fuel fittings, they appear to have done the trick, but that loctite 567 looks the goods.
Thanks mate i'll try to source some of that tomorrow.. They are a tapered thread, and same thread yes as the fittings came with the FPR all sard. its bit odd that not sealing but fingers crossed some goo helps.
You don't find the fuel reacts to the plumbers tape?
no not yet. when i originally used the fittings i put them in without tape and it was leaking, put the tape on and it was sweet. that was about 3-4 years ago, so far so good![]()
I use teflon tape too, haven;t noticed anythign wierd about it, seems to fall apart when you undo the fittings but water does that too.
do a soak test?
i was told that the tapes would react/soften/melt/leak with fuel.... but i never got around to testing it
the 567 looks like it turns into perspex, or similar
take note of the cure times here

edit, but i can't quickly find anything about not using teflon tapes.... some shops have "yellow" tape for gas and kero, and supposedly petrol too... but... dunno....
teflon is fiarly resistant to most things.... hmm

well maybe they do after time, but from my personal experience i havent had a problem, but i could just be lucky.
i would definately go that loctite stuff over thread tape, but i used what i had handy![]()
Because im so impatient haha.. I just went and put some plumbers thread tape on it and sealed up fine
But I reckon next time im at the auto shop i'll buy some of the loctite and redo it just to be safe.
there is a special thread tape for use with fuel, but according to the ppl i asked at the shop everyone just uses the regular stuff with no issues so far
i also used regular teflon thread tape![]()

I was a bit worried about the chance of bits of tape flaoting around in the fuel system, so I used Loctite, it seems to work fine.
Strange things are afoot at the circle K
I have used that white loctite stuff pictured above and it's great, definitely worht having a tube in the garage.
I have used teflon tape on the fuel sytem in the past and have never had an issue, always carefully placed though so no chance of it entering the fuel system.

Is anything fuel safe, oil safe also?
I was thinking of using teflon tape for some oil fittings, but wasnt 100% if it would be ok.
Kind Regards,
Kurt.
