Ive spent a while looking around but cant find any real info on what i need so iam posting up here
my sisters cressida is playing up atm, and we have no idea what is going wrong
problems:
while coming home the other day it started to stall while driving ?.... it would drop in the revs and then burst back again........and we had it idling, and it does it...... revs normally, then sort of dies....but gathers it before it can stall........
did the diagnostic and it threw up the water temp sensor......so replaced that, but it's still giving that same code ??
and every now and then when we start it, it runs like it's on 5cyl..... runs rough, idles goes up 2000rpm and drops to 800, then back up........then down.......it's really weird
it sounds like it's an electrical problem.... but we have no idea, have checked all the wires and hoses, cleaned out the ISCV and some intake lines.... replaced leads as thought they were the problem.....
we have done all that we know, if anyone could enlighten me, please........as it might have to go to MR toyota to get fixed if we cant find the prob

you might need to reset the ECU, the code is stored even after the problem is fixed. Reset the ECU then check for the code.Originally Posted by rob_85

start engine, run, disconnect ISCV...
kill engine, pull main efi fuse 20mins, reconnect ISCV...
replace fuse, restart engine, idle, kill engine
you should hear the ISCV winding in and out resetting itself

Try unplugging things to eliminate them from the loop. I've had the same thing happen from another 7mge. In the end I couldn't figure out what fixed it. I changed ISCV and unplugged then reconnected the TPS and it came fine!

water temperature sensor? that's a really weird one... erm.. are u sure it's running on 5 cylinders? after the leads it could be the coil pack.. but yea do the suggestions above..

Research has shown child in front seat causes accidents, accident in back seat causes child
mine sounded like it was runnning on 5 cyl, it was just the high tension cables, not sure if yours is the same thing though

ive just done my BHG on my 1ggte.......so i know what that sounds like
it's not that......because some times it runs fine, except for the stalling.....
where as my 1g ran like utter poo ...... what happens when coolant is floating around![]()
