    Default Suitable Offset for RA28

    Hey guys,

I'm going to order a new set of rims for my RA28 and would like to know what is a good offset for a 15" x 7" rim...

I've done a bit of a search, and all I can come up with is a couple of links to calculators, but with these you need to know the current rim size and offset for your car (which I don't know), and they don't give you a good idea of what will fill the guards properly!

The rims I've been thinking about come in +0 or +10 offset for 15" x 7"...

    Which one would better suit?

I am also wanting to do a hilux diff conversion for my RA28 in the future and think this will need to be taken into account...

I would say around a +10 would do. a +0 you might be getting a bit close to the guard?

Rallystanza runs 15 by 7s in +12. Have a word to him and you may be able to test fit one this weekend and see how you like it.

My opinion is both will fit, and the +0 will have an edge in the fooli sik dish stakes. However that is a reasonably uneducated opinion.

I need a working 4AGE bottom end. Pref smallport GZE, but all others considered. Also complete motors.
Drift Volvo. Was fun. 2JZ next time.

    i run -10 13x7s ...bought 10-15mm with tyre outside the guards (i have flares0

so in theory depending on tyre choice a 0 offset may be fine but... on the limits for sure.

measure backspace in mm from back edge (closest to shock) to hub face (where wheel meets hub)

measure wheel width edge to edge (not tyre)

    then its

    width - backspace = X
    width / 2 = Y
    Y - X = offset

    That should help heaps!

I'd say that I'll be ordering the +10 offset...

These are what I'm probably going to order as they're only $250 per rim...

I think they should look good on the 28, but not totally sure!

+20 is when you start to get quite close to the front shock.
+10 will be a good 15mm clearance between strut and tyre with a 7" rim.

If you go with the 1370 hilux diff should be fine.. If you go the 1410mm one then a +35 or so wheel is more suited.

Will they still look as good with the 1370 hilux diff?
