    Hey guys just purchased a 85 cressida with 5M 2.8 of this kid that knows nothing for 50bucks today only thing wrong is a dead battery. dont know much about them. how good are the motors, whats a direct swap. yeah just after some info about them, thanks Dave

    1. Search - LOTS of information on the forums for the MX73 series
    2. Also join - www.toyotacressida.net - lost of guys on there with info on the MX73 and 5M engine..

    Good luck with your $50 investment..

    5M-GE, 2759cc, 120-127kw.

    7M-GE and 7M-GTE will bolt in, wiring and minor stuff required.

    1UZ-FE will fit

    120-127kw hmm so auto would be around the 90rwkw mark right, hahaha

    There are stacks of engine swap possibilities, the only limit is how much time and money you want to invest.

    Any M series, JZ series or UZ series can (and has) been done with relative ease. The car is very similar mechanically to the MA61 Supra so the same upgrade path can be applied to the MX73.

    My 5me with extractors, 2.25" exhaust (no cat), K&N pod (and straight pipe) makes 91rwkw on the dyno (supposedly). People doubt I even make that so I don't think your $50 5me will be making anything over 70

    all the MX73's i've seen have had 5MGE's

    yeap thats what its got. single cam, its not to bad but the auto is shot so ill convert to manual and a couple of gaskets need replacing other than that its sweet. all the lectrics still work. all that was wrong with it was the fuse on the + line. haha. i didnt even buy a new one i just bent them so they where touching.

    awww, looks just like my first cressie.

    top idea with the fuse, i will do that to all my fuses now so i don't have to buy anymore.
