Default Removing old paint from rubber door seals

Hi guys, what is the BEST method of removing paint from door seals, the result of a very poor spray job.

How slack are some people, either remove the seal, or tape the bloody thing up. How hard is that?

Previously, I have removed the seals, and scrubbed with thinners, and cloth. On the thicker bits of paint, I have used steel wool, and even wet and dry paper. When cleaned, I have sprayed the seals with satin vinyl spray.

Does anyone have a a better way.

If this has been covered before, my apologies. Search found nothing.

    cheers Chuck.

vinyl spray will be a bitch to remove - that shit soaks into plastic and rubbers....

Suggest the remove and work it with thinners/metho/something method.
    ...... butt scratcher?!

i did the thinners wiping on the windows to deal with overspray - my partner gently wiped on the thinners and i wiped off moments later. We covered everything with towels to prevent collatoral damage.

I think you want to avoid paint solvents on window/door rubbers or treat them straight afterwards to minimise chemical damage.

you can also remove paint with white spirits or dry cleaning fluid - but its also a solvent (hydrocarbon) so the above point still applies. I used it to clean overspray off trim.
