OST display @ AutoSalon 2007

Ok Ive just been looking at the recent results from Sydney Autosalon and check this out:

Hassan's K24 powered Del-Sol CRX currently holds the 4 Clydiner NA record and over the weekend he smashed his own record and now the recrod sits at 142.1 KW!!

Say what!! Thats only like 190 HP for the CABIN record, you are kidding... someone donate me some money so I get my MOTEC and all of Glenns racing BEAMS mods, I'll smash with 240HP!!

or we could just enter laurens beams and take thr title ourself

Hey Guys,

My name is Ben, I am a good mate of Deano. Yes, I am using his account.

I own a 92 TR Magna Turbo. Dean mentioned something bout having to nominate some cars for autosalon made after 1986? The turbo engine isnt complete at the moment but if I get around to putting my Jetspeed body kit on the car and a lick of paint on the bonnet, will definately look quiet the part and I am more than happy to cruise with your club at autosalon.

OK - after the meeting the other night.. confirmed numbers look like this:

Post 86:
Wayno - 93 Celcia = entry form sent / payment sent
John (coFF33) - 88 Soarer = entry form received / waiting on payment
Tristan - 91 Supra = entry form received / waiting on payment
Neil - 88 Cordia = entry form recieved / waitin on payment
Chris - Soarer = waiting on entry form / waiting on payment
Dean - 91 Camry = waiting on entry form / waiting on payment

Pre 86:
Matty - 84 Crown = entry form received / waiting on payment
Lauren - 77 Celica = entry form received / waiting on payment
Damo - 83 Supra = entry form received / waiting on payment

So technically we have the numbers to enter as a club
Wayno is going to call Autosalon on Monday and clarify a few of the queries raised at the meeting including the pre-86 cars.

Might be an idea to snag 1 more post 86 car - and Dean mentioned Tristans "ITTAKES2" SW20 MR2 .. would be a good addition to the group and even out the numbers to a tidy 10 cars on show.

If people can now follow through with their payments to me asap, either cheque or money order, then I can send off these entry forms and get us booked in before they run out of space!

OK Ive spoke with Alise at Autosalon and this is the outcome:

The mod list on the back page at this stage is just a test to see what info they receive back. They're not using it to judge cars in anyway HOWEVER if a car gets handed in with very little mods they may call and say do you really want to put your car in the show as its not really catered for stock cars! Fair call!

NOW Pre-86 rule! Pre-86 cars are only allowed within clubs if they have 6 cars for EVERY pre-86 you wish to enter. So we would need 18 cars to enter 3 pre-86 cars! HOWEVER as she hasnt started organising the Perth show yet they may have a Old Skool Legends trophy for the best Old Skooler. Theyre still testing the ground to see if they can start a Old Skool Arena up. If these Pre-86 cars enter as Private they will get through no worries on their own and she will try and put them as close to us as possible. HOWEVER HOWEVER if there isnt many pre-86 cars that enter this year then she will allow our 3 cars to come into the club.

SO at this stage to make sure the cars are in there she said enter the cars under the club and when she starts organising the show she will have a look how many Old Skoolers there are and 1) if theres to many pre-86 cars she will enter them as privates or 2) if there isnt many pre-86 cars we can have them in the display!

Next question we have to ask ourselves is...

!) Owners of Pre-86 cars would you mind if you were entered as Private entrant if you had too?

2) Once we have 6 cars which pre-86 car do we want within the club display if we had to choose?

Personally worst comes to worst I reckon even if 2 others have to go private I will 'personally' get their private entrant spots put next to the club. Even if they allow a walk space between the middle we can rig the theme setup to overlap the walk way, I have ideas! hehehe BUT we wont know till after the Brisbane show when she starts organising the Perth show but lets atleast have a few ideas to action before then!

well, personally, i don't mind if my car isn't in the show, cos its not really up to scratch anyway.
So that would then just leave matty and loz.
If we had to choose, i would say put the crown in the show, cos Lauren still has a engine conversion to go yet so its gonna be touch and go wether her car will be ready, whereas Matty's crown is pretty much ready to go.

Lets enter them all at the moment, post 86 and pre 86 and deal with Autosalon selections if they come back to us and say we can't have them all.. ??
