Front to rear isn't a problem, left to right would be a bad idea.
Hi all,
Quick question. Is there a problem with mixing brands/levels of shocks on your car? Eg one set on the front being a diff brand/price range than the rears? Just pricing up some new shocks for the Cressida and finding that fronts tend to be a fair bit more expensive than the rears![]()

Cheers...would you recommend a better quality shock for the front, due to the engine? Or should you go for uniform across all four corners?Originally Posted by Billzilla

But if you stick with the name brands, such as Koni, KYB, Ohlins, etc, then it's hard to go wrong.

Currently looking at KYBs for the front and Monroe's for the back. Will see what prices I can get.
GO KYB all round if thats the case! If you thinking of putting Munroe's in, save you money and cut a broom stick down to fit the strut, as it will do the same job and last 100 years longer.
Monroe are not even decent as a stock replacement my opinion, even in an old persons car that never leaves the garage.
my last set of monroe shocks lasted all of about 30,000k's in my ta22 before 1 collapsed, all other suspension components were stock...
ive only bought KYB's since then

Punctuation is the difference between 'I helped my Uncle Jack off his horse' and 'I helped my uncle jack off his horse.'
also depends on what you want them for ? track...drift...street...or just everyday smooth driving.... for fully sick drifto cant beat a good set of hard coilovers![]()

personaly i have never had a problem with monroe. granted they are not a good as some others but better than that of a broom. i have been fitting them to commonwhores and falcoons for about two years now, and no problems yet. found some cheap for my celica and also no problems.

I think I can get them for around $200 per pair. Front and rear. If you find out the part number I can give you a firm price.
