    Default V8 Corolla - Possible?

    Hi Guy

I am wondering if anyone has done (or investigated the possibility) of putting the 1uzfe into a KE30. The bay seem to have plenty of room with height being the only obvious concern. Any help would be appreciated as the current power plant (very modded 2TG) is costing a lot more to keep running than the dyno sheets can justify!

    Thanks in advance
    Justin K

sure anything can fit anywhere if you have time patience and a car trailer

steering is a concern. change to a rack.

don't expect to be able to get it legal... then again, you are in victoria.. there is 1UZ AE86 going around, but into a KE30? talk to some engineers first.

There is a 1UZ on NOS in a KE35 in New Zealand. Road legal and runs low 11's/high tens. Of course you guys get screwed on mod laws over there but is a quite possible conversion.

The Lexus v8 is spos to weigh no more than the 2TG currently in the car (with deleted ancils like ps pump ac ect) so I thing shouldn't effect handling too much. Any one have an exact weight for one of these engines?

    Pure hotness here.

    http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index...howtopic=12158

    Its a ke30 with a group A SS commonhore V8 308 engine.

    Its nuts.

I know someone that is installing a 1j into his ke and the firewall was sacrificed.

Anything is possible, engineerable..well thats another question.

Justen on these forums has a TT1UZ in his grpA celica. It weighs less with the 1UZ than with the stock 3SGTE

I cant see why it wouldnt be engineerable, you will need structural changes though, which will cost. Can you stick the shell on a hilux chassis or similar?? This would give you the structural strength needed to run the V8... then you need to make all of your own suspension mounts, but you can run rear mcpherson strut and IRS a lot easier if you have something solid to bolt it to. Sounds like a crazy project Idea, so keep us all informed of how you go, and make sure you do a forum member's ride thread for all to see.

+rep from me for being insane.

I know where your comin from with the full chasis thing but part of the appeal of the ke for me is the light weight. The car is already seam welded with a half cage so will just finish the cage and go from there.

Run some box section along the subframe line, you will need the strength. Check out the twin turbo 1UZ TA22 with GTR running gear in the forum members rides section
