No the eManage Ultimate isn't standalone. Essentially it's an eManage Blue with a few extra features.
I just got my EMU form japan the other day, i was looking at the JS147 harness i bought with it, it looks like i need the stock ECU as well?? I was under the impression that it was a stand alone not a piggyback.
Hopefully someone can shed some light on my confusion.

damn so i now need the ECU for an Aristo.
Anyone know of a any lying around??
Also quoting the GReddy website might have been the source of your confusion:
"eManage Ultimate is as close to a stand-alone management system as you can get while maintaining the best features of a "piggy-back" engine management"

Ah shit happens, as if doing an engine swap is a easy as it sounds.
So i have a new item to add to my shopping list.
Could i cheat and try and find a Supra Manual ECU
The emanage is a very basic, yet complete little unit that takes the signals it needs from a stock computer, and then makes it's own outputs via the extra harnesses.
With enough messing around, i reckon you could use it and a supra manual ecu, na or turbo.
That's a whole lot of wiring and mapping to run it all, good luck in finding the info you need. I was going to go this way and try and make a 20v ecu to run boost, but i've decided that going straight to aftermarket ecu is better for me.
At very minimum, you'd need to get the supra ecu running the show before you add/intergrate the emanage.

The spanner in my avatar is actually a 16mm, that's why it's still new
sell the emanage and buy a microtech
i can ask sss see if they have an aristo ecu
they just got a new container in with afew complete 2jzs
this is why itell most people to buy a complete set
even if u pay abit more its worth the less hassles at end of day
if you are running the auto box you need the std ecu or a shift unit for the auto box
never been a fan of emanges like i said in another post they are a glorified safc
pay bit more and go full aftermarket
If you end up doing so, im in the market for an emanageOriginally Posted by sideshow

agree with sideshow. If you already had the stock ecu then emanage would be fine. Some people are getting very good results with them. As you don't, microtech lt12s and x6 igniter all the way![]()
I'm running the R154 behind the 2jz
I have heard that mircotech isn't the best for tuning for the street. As my main plan is to use my hilux as a daily. My new engine builder and tuner hates the mircotech.

well i got an Aristo ECU today. I'm still confused what the different plug is on my loom from the motor is, one plugs straight into the ecu, the other i'm unsure. I think it might be for the Fuel ECU or something like that. the Aristo ECU came with the extra plug from the loom.
You are using an Aristo 2jzgte???
You will have three plugs at the ECU, the large twin plug with the 10mm head bolt that screws to the ECU and a smaller 40pin plug.
You will need the 40pin plug from the body loom of the car, the larger boxy looking plug from the engine loom contains some wires that will need connecting to the smaller ECU plug.
The smaller ECU plug also contains power feeds, kick downs, tacho's anda myriad of other wires that WILL need connecting.
It sounds like you have the ECU but not the 'body loom' plug...
I'm not sure how tricky these are to source, but it might be worthwhile going full standalone as suggested earlier, as these 'might' pose hard to source and I would imagien it would be a MESS without the correct plugs.

All rubbish from years of people talking crap about microlebs. Yes they are basic, but so is a carby.Originally Posted by LUX15M
i have a microtech on my ute. Street ability is top notch, and fuel economy matches and sometimes exceeds that stated from the manufacturer with a stock computer. And thats a 2.7L petrol with a turbo strapped to the side of it.

agree with Lance. If you can't tune yourself though, then get whatever ecu your tuner can tune (and suits your engine).
Not hard to see that there are many VERY quick microtech powered cars and many return very good fuel economy. I will be checking mine soon with normal diff gears.
