4age tensioner pulley HELP NEEDED

Im in the process of changing my timing belt and im replacing the tensioner pulley.

Question is, When i took the old one off a small cylinder like metal tube came out with it and im not exactly sure where it came from. Its only about 1cm big. It may not have even come out with it (im confused)

Also does the pulley just sit on the bolt (tightened) with spring attached and not move? i.e Is there no guide that stops the whole pulley from spining.

sounds like the locator doobie has fallen out when you pulled the old tensioner off. it's what holds the base of the tensioner to swivel/move back and forth on the bolt. is why your whole tensioner is spinning.

i cant find a detailed enough pic at the moment. but on the oil pump casing below there will be a hole that the little cylinder doobie comes from. hold the tensioner in place with the center bolt (no spring) and you should be able to find it's location looking at the little hole in the base of the tensioner. (lower part). tap the cylinder doobie back into the hole with a small hammer.
