    pete,
In shorter terms of what has just been said and less confusing.
The ECU puts out an EARTH (-) signal each time the supercharger engages.

You would have to wire your light to constant/ignition battery (+) thru a fuse of course.

Look at the diagram and follow the yellow/red wire on the other side of the light (turbo light):

Then trace it and you will see where it ends up:

so depending on type of light you use a 5 amp fuse would be suffient. i'd reccomend a blue led for that super dooper autosalon look

also this circuit also applies for 4agze motors too.

O yeah if using an LED dont forget to usi a dropping resistor of like 480 or 560ish ohms on the positive side of the LED.

sa mentioned supercharger light is earth from ecu so power the other bulb pin. same as turbo light on GTE.

Pin 16 on ECU plug "Q", same as the SC light I believe.

as above ... direct from ECU as a earth trigger.

OK. I wired up the SC according to the diagram, amended by Brett_Celicacoupe. My first impressions were that the Lux was idling better and running smoother. But I still think it's lacking something.

My only experience with this setup (Hilux/1GGZE) is in a friend's car and to say I'm a little underwhelmed with mine would be an understatement. But it was a while ago when I drove his and only once 'round the block.

What does it feel like when the SC comes on?

I connected two different Boost gauges (one an Auto Meter, the other a GReddy) by interfacing with the tubing at the front of the plenum (under the SC piping). But under throttle they both only read vacuum, no boost at all.

Whilst I know there are a number of variables here that may be accountable can anyone with a 1GGZE shed some light?

    Cheers,

    Peter

you can hard wire the clutch so that SC is constantly on, to test it.

    2 wires, +12v and ground.

    thats what id do anyway.

    you should get atleast 5psi

Woo Hoo! Now it's hauling A*SE!

I poured over the schematics again for two days before deciding there was definitely something wrong with the wiring as we had it.

So late yesterday arvo I opened up the bonnet and began again with the relays.

    I identified two problems:

    1. There was no grey wire coming from Pin 4 on the ECU "Q" plug. This is the control wire for the EFI relay. Now, I mean, there was literally no wire there. So I pulled one of the other non-used pins and put it in Pin 4. I then ran a grey wire out to the engine bay.

    2. We had wired up the EFI Main Relay and the Supercharger Relay as one because we thought this would save time and effort. Looking at the schematics (and knowing the Supercharger wasn't coming on) I realised this was a mistake as both relays work differently.

The solution was to strip the wiring off the relay we had, insert another relay (an M4 which I remember as being used for EFI Main on the Toyotas at Pick'n'Payless), and then wire up the EFI Main relay first.

Four pins - Earth, Pin 4 off ECU "Q", power and the fuse line.

I then wired the Supercharger Relay. Two wires off the SC Clutch inc. power off the Main EFI Relay, Earth, and the green wire back to pin 25 on ECU "S".

So I kicked it over, jumped in and went off to test.

I got about three kms from home, going up a hill and all of a sudden - whoosh, away it went in 2nd, then 3rd, and still pulling. This was the way I remembered it.

So now I am a happy camper!

It's wired temporarily at the moment but I will consolidate everything tomorrow, connect the boost gauge and maybe the tacho, and go for another more extended run.

Cheers to all who assisted and offered good advice. Once again, I couldn't have done it without the Toymods people. You know who you are.
