I would have thought a 10-30 or 10-40 would be the go
Ok, ive just instaled a beams redtop 3sge into my aw11, it aparently has about 40,000km on it.
Im not sure what the recomended oil grade is possibly 5w-30 from the factory but that seems too thin, i used to use penrite 15w60 semi synthetic but aparently this could be too thick for an engine with this mileage.
The engine has been sitting around for a while so i am going to do a short change first up to flush it out.
Any recomendations ppl ?

Toyota Genuine oil, of manufacturer recommended grade will be your best bet. Its only when they start getting older, or you start modifying them that their requirements change.

just having a little trouble finding the factory recomended grade, i think a 10w will b my best bet however.
1. Ring Toyota and ask (make sure you have the model vehicle it is from, a VIN would be best)
2. Go down and buy Genuine, and a Genuine filter, and use Genuine red coolant
3. ???
4. Profit!!!

I put up a table from Toyota a while back that listed recommended oil thicknesses for engines.
Ill try to find it again...

Already have genuine filter thats been waiting for months
I've always used 10W30 (FUCHS) in my 2ZZ-GE, never had an issue.Originally Posted by brett_celicacoupe
