    Default 7mgte injectors on a 1ggte

hey, i know these fit, but i wanna know if the plugs for them are the same...

i.e. do i have to change the plugs, or do the 7mgte ones plug into the same plugs as the factory 1ggte ones..

    cheers

Plugs are the same, the impedance is not. The 7M ones are low impedance. The 1G runs high. I asked about the feasibility of getting them to work and not got an answer yet

yep they fit, on some (gen 3 i think) theres a small tab that needs to be filed off. These injectors wont run on gen 3s without resistors though due to high/low impedence issues..

On my gen 3 1ggte the plugs are close, but not perfect. From memory when you file off that tab to get the plugs to fit, you are removing the part of the plug that actually keeps the plug clipped together (if that makes sense) I ordered new plugs to fit the 7mgte injectors from www.powerflowinjection.com they were pretty cheap. You just remove the wire from the old plug and slide the wire into the new plug. Now you have a perfect match.

7mgte injectors wont run on the standard ecu, I have tried this. The engine will barely idle as there is way too much fuel, so much so that it dribbles out the exhaust.

I wanted to keep the wiring as stock as possible so it looks neat and can be removed later on with minimal fuss if need be from memory the SAFC-II can cope with +/- 50% fueling.

The Gen1/2 plugs will fit the 7M injectors, the Gen3 ones have a slightly different plug. They are the same impedance as the Gen1/2 injectors, and I think this is the reason for the different indexing on the plugs.

I wouldn't bother if I was using the factory ECU, even with an SAFC or a Jaycar DFA.

do you mean the gen1/2/3 impedence is all the same? just different plugs..

i have a gen2, so to run the 7m ones ill need to hook up an injector pack and some sort of aftermarket management... the only reason im thinking about it is coz ill be running around 18psi sometimes and wanna make sure it will not lean out..

No, the Gen1/2 have the low impedance and a resistor pack. The Gen3 injectors are high impedance and no resistor pack.

Any aftermarket management should be able to run it without the pack.

    sweet, cheers Nathan..

hmm, just gotta see if its worth it for me now...

gen2's have smaller injectors then 3's dont they....

if i can get a cheap fuel computer it might be worth it..

They do have smaller injectors, but not much.

so basically if the plug fits without modification, you dont need resistor packs

Sort of right. It's more a case of, you already have resistor packs
