4 litres should be plenty
4a's normally take about 3.5L...ish
Going to change the oil in the sprinter tomorrow, and I wanna make extra sure I have enough oil for it before I drain it.
Whats the normal amount of oil for a 100kw Red-top 4AGE? I bought 4-litres today, but just wanna make sure...

wicked thanks
also, fillit up a bit past full, not too much though.
a tip passed to me by a mate "in the know" better to have some extra oil in there while cornering etc.
Elmo.
Like 100ml past full?
I'd say about 3mm past the FULL mark.
Dont put too much in or the crank will be splashing around in the oil. I know someone who put 7.5litres in a 4ac. almost killed it!
*hearts* his 4age powered KE70 Panelvan!
Hi, Im enthused about corollas..
Haha DROWN THAT BIATCH!
3.8L
And better to have too little oil than too much, to a degree of course
tip: throw in 3 litres or so, then run the engine, let it warm and fill the new oil filter, then top up as required.
Did it today, is dot on the full line for the moment. I'll top it up tomorrow to give it a chance to fill up the little nooks and crannies (eg. oil filter like Arch says).
Did a coolant flush also, you would not believe the state of it. It was BROWN. It took me three and a half flushes to get it clean. I had to go and get more distilled water!
The car feels better already...
when i first got the car , coolant was green.. checked it few weeks back and it's brown too.. as soon as exams finish i'm going to redo the top hoses and do a flush.. and service is due.. argh..
so u've got a sprinter with a smallport? nice....

Nice avatar!
Yeah spoontah with a smallport. Goes really hard. I picked it up quite cheap, and I am thinking of selling it on for a profit. Just gotta clean it up, cause the last owner was really careless. So oil is done and coolant is done, just gotta get a cd player for it, give the interior a real good clean, and clean up some paint overspray. Then a good clean on the outside.
Should be really nice then.
If you've run it it will have filled the oil filter, only takes a few seconds at the mostOriginally Posted by DigitalPho3nix

Ok, then oil filter is definitely full!Originally Posted by Dale
I ran it for 5 mins then took it for a spin around the block.
I'll put in another slosh tomorrow.
The way we got taught to do it at work (Toyota) is to fill it up to the full line. Then start the engine and run it for 5-10 seconds whilst making sure the oil pressure light goes out (in case you forgot to tighten/put on the oil filter). Then let it sit for 2 minutes. Then fill to the full line.
