Standard old school Toyota 2-bolt one? Look amongst 80 series Landcruisers.
Hi,
Anyone know of a 1 inch bore master cylinder that bolts onto the stock TA22 booster? If so, pics would be appreciated.
I think Hopper stoppers sell one for a TA22 but I don't know what brand or type it is?
Cheers,
Simon

If its the same as the ke30 one, im pretty sure most mitsubishi master cylinder bolt patterns where the same around the time of lancer evo 4, pajero NH and other cars around that time.
The pajero NH master is 15/16 however im about 70% sure its the same bolt pattern as the evo 3/4 which is 1" bore size. You will need to check into that though.
I know the galant around that time(cant remember the model code) had the same bolt pattern but is only a 7/8 bore size.
Simon,
Camry 2000--2002 definately, maybe earlier and later models, Celica ST204/05, I have the ST and Phil (1JZrolla) has a Camry one. A Camry one new from Toyota may not cost too much. Phil got his for less than what I paid for an overhaul kit.
Both M/Cs are the same, the front line comes out the top and the rear line out the side towards the engine, only the reservoirs are different. I'll wander out now and take a picture for my next reply. I had to modify my vacuum port and I think Phil did not have to.

Anyone got a pic of the Camry master?

Simon,
Suss this thread: http://www.toymods.net/forums/showth...er+landcruiser
I purchased a pajero MC for my ta22 however it has not yet been tested. I can take some photos of it but Grega has posted some pics in the above thread.
It is a direct bolt on job, not exactly sure if its 1inch however beeing a duel circuit cylinder would mean it is already much better then the old TA22 or T-18 item.
If you would like pics of mine, let me know.

Camry brake master is p/n 47201-06190. Beware though that it has a massive fluid reservoir, which may foul on a TA22 strut, haven't trial fitted one to a celica but it has perfect clearance in my AE71 engine bay. Either way, the ST185 and ST205 celica fluid reservoir interchanges perfectly if you need to change it, they are way smaller (as shown in Roger's pic)

hey mate I am running a camry MC or the "starship enterprise" as I call it seeing the resivour is huge! It doesnt foul on anything but is very big as its also designed to hold the clutch fluid..
I may be selling it if you are interested,it has been fitted but never used.
$150 plus shipping.

Nath,
Can you send me a couple of pics? Ideally I want something with a 1 inch bore and a unit that doesn't look out of place in my TA22.

Simon

camry and st185/205 all 1" bore size, only the fluid resorvoir is different. I have installed both in my TA22, doesnt look out of place.
1 thing I do need to solve and I know w810sc also had the same issue. After fitting these M/C, the pedal becomes very hard and feels like there is no booster/assistance at all. Takes alot of leg power to jump on the pedal. May be an issue with both our boosters??
Either way though, both items are a direct swap and only slight massaging of the lines is needed. Would be worth investigating the brake pedal hardness issue though, I just havent had time to look at it properly.

Good point, maybe the booster is too small. I should also see what options their are to swap the booster and MC over. Maybe a booster from an RA23 or similar will be better?Originally Posted by 3SGTE TA22
I need to get to a wrecker and see what's around as I don't want to do a conversion that doesn't give good pedal feel.

Everyone who has put the 1" Camry master cylinder onto the TA22/KExx brake booster has noted the "hard" pedal feel. It's simply due to the fact that the Camry has an enormous (in comparison) booster compared to the TA22/KExx booster and as such offers a lot more vacuum assistance.
Last one I used was a Camry master cylinder on a TA22 booster with Hilux calipers up front and I think in hindsight a 15/16" master cylinder would have been a better size taking into account all the factors involved in that particular setup. It does work very well though, just requires a bit more pedal force.
