Any tyre fitters on the forum?

Its for my diesel Hilux, so Tojo if not exactly performance! I'd rather make a fool of myself on here than at a tyre shop, so here goes-
Is there anything illegal about mounting a 8.25 R16 truck tyre on say, a 16" Hilux split rim? And then fitting aforementioned tyre and rim to aforementioned Hilux? I realize it will drive a little more truck like, but theres reasoning in this madness!

Not illeagle as far as I know but why?
Unless you want it for the extra rolling diameter but then are you sure it will clear the guards etc.

Can't remember what size the Luxs tyres are std but the 8.25 would have to be a lot taller.

Look up your laws for wheel sizes, NSW wont allow 15mm extra width or 2" extra hight to factory tyres.

Yep, I'm after height. Std Lux are 205R16, measure 29". 8.25 truck tyres measure 32.5", quite close to Simex 34 10.5 R15 Jungle Trekkers. Change diff ratios to suit, I have hard wearing highway tyres and hardcore mud tyres a flick of a wheelbrace away (sort of). I was mostly wondering because truck tyres would presumably handle in a somewhat trucklike fashion... might just submit my mod permit application and see what happens.
