a guy on the old forums did a rotary (can't remember if it was 12 or 13b) into an ae86. Unfortunately the car didn't last too long
May want to search there![]()
Hi, i have searched however it turned up nothing on 13B turbo engine conversions.
Has anybody on this forum performed this engine conversion (13B into KE70/TE70) or will i be a pioneer?
Potential obstacles i forsee:
1. RX7s have steering racks in front of the engine Cross Member
2. The trans tunnel in my Corolla may not be big enough.
3. My T series may not hold 180 rwkw (jokes)
Thanks
Andy

Check out the ausrotary forums as well, rotary Corollas have been around for years so I'm sure you'll find some info there.

I may be able to help you out a little bit - i have one in my TA22. I know its not a Ke70 but i am sure alot of my pains will hold true in any car...
RE the ae86 with 13bt in it from the old forums.....
Engine was mounted using a 12a timing cover. That will allow you to mount the engine right at the face. A simple bar across the rails and some rubber isolators was all that was needed. Trans tunnel had to be massaged abit. Your diff will die a very painful death quite fast. Go hilux diff....
Best part of it all is easy power, plenty of room up front, and the noise...... worst part? getting less than 200km per tank with granny driving.
cheers.
is your 13B mounted from the 13B mounts or have you done the 12A trick?Originally Posted by 4SFED
i measured the distance from the firewall to the engine mounts on a SIV RX7 and then likewise on a KE70 and the distances were within 10mm.
ill have to investigate but i do see the 12A timing cover being a lot easier.

You will need a 12A/early13B timing cover and a sump from a rx4 13B engine the 13B turbo mounting is no good for the conversion
I will go through my photos and see if I can find some conversion pics from when I was working at pro rotor we did a corolla and a couple of celicas
You will find that you can only put a N/A engine in it legaly in nsw unles you plan on putting a 10A turbo in it
