Stewart Components make a pretty good remote mounted EWP thats not as bulky and agricultural looking as the DC....

Ok, im probably going to go EWP in the next engine revision, partially so i can keep the pump going when i pull into the pits.
Anyway, that aside, ive noticed a slightly different design, which uses the stock pump, but simply runs it off a seperate motor like so:
Looks like a pretty good little solution (apart from finding a place to put the motor, and running the belt. Mainly because it solves the problem with the normal Davies Craig EWP kits leaking, as it just uses the stock pump.
Anyone else used one of these, and have an informed opinion on it?

who makes that first one Takai? looks interesting.. could even just convert a motor from old thermofan, as they are designed to run pretty often and be reliable...
have you looked at the meziere pumps?

Procomp make the first motor. I wasnt thinking of buying one, more just adapting something else. Although it probably wouldnt be that expensive, around $60 i think. But you are right, the thermofan option would be easier, just have to fit a pulley to it.
Havnt looked at the meziere pumps. Anything over in japland for the 4AGE?

forgot about the meziere range, they're also very good and their customer service is tops.
They helped me the last time I was querying about EWP and the only reason I ended up not getting it at the time was I came over here and shelved the car till a later date

How much power does it take to run the water pump?
Would the thermo fan motor have enough?
just as a correction....the pic in the original post is of a setup made by Proform, not Procomp

whats this rumour of the DC EWP kits leaking?
i had one running on the 1g for over a year without one problem..... also had a thermo fan die on me at wakefield, so set the EWP to run COLD as possible and drove it home to syd with no problems.
alot easier to setup, aswell,
I believe roundy had issues with DC ones as well..
watching this with interest - no waterpump = more room for FMIC pipes ina 205

i did, but that was the DC booster pump which was too small for the W/A IC, nevermind trying to pump the cooling system for an engine :O
there could be some agricultural or marine pumps that might fit the bill...it would depend on how much water gets pumped around.
