There are many variations of the A340E the one fitted to the 2JZGTE being the strongest. The A341E has taller first and reverse gears than the A340E. Some A341Es have four soleniods instead of three as do the A340Es.
Hey ppl just a few questions to clear up my dilema;
TC apparently 1jzgte 2200-2400 while 2jzgte 2000-2200 correct?????
a34? out of 1jzgte soarer has a slip on outputshaft and is "same" mechanically as a jzx81 a341E appart from speed sensors????
Anyone tried to use a jzx81/soarer box behind a 2jzgte to give higher stall and to get rid of the 3 prong / rubber donut?????
Reason for asking i m doing another mx83 2jzgte conversion and would like to know if bolting on a soarer box would eliminate the need of getting a custom tailshaft with the bonus of a higher stall converter (which could even be higher than 2400 behind a torquier 2jz)
Alson looking for an gx81 brake booster or if somone knows where to get a custom one???
Thanks

Jealousy is a curse
i would say to use a slip yoke spec a34# on a 2jz, you will need to trace back solenoids 1 and 2 and rewire them to the ecu. the 2jz has different plugs for memory.
you will also need to connect the kickdown cable to the TB, which probably requires the use of a 1JZ TB.
the 2jz ecu has a output in the ecu to control line pressure so you may need to wire a resistor across that circuit so the ecu thinks everything is working properly.
whether the slip yoke a34# speed sensor outputs are compatable with the 2jz ecu is another thing.
these are juts my thoughts and may or may not be right
hello
cambelt used a jza80 auto gearbox which has a slipyoke for his mx83
talk to him he is very helpful
MX83 2JZ-GTE!!

Thanks alot guys. Just exactly what i thought i already got the kick down thing of my old 1j and should be just a lil rewire to the ecu. I reckon this should be the easiest option since i already have the soarer box avaliable to me and there is no need 4 custom tailshaft (or that monies can be used on a shift kit). + 1jzgte boxes are just as strong
The 1j boxes aren't as strong. 2nd gear is the weakest in a 1j box and this is often upgraded to the 2j item in a built box. I have heard of stock 2jz boxes handling relatively well with over 300rwkw. Whereas Mike from MV's said that the 1j box with a shift kit and trans cooler is rated safely to about 265rwkw (obviously depends on other stuff as well like weight of car).
If you have a 2jz engine and no gearbox then it could make sense if you are planning on keeping the power output relatively low.
If you plan on going single, I think you would be crazy to stick a 1j box on there, have to sort out rewiring of ecu etc. when you could just buy a 2j box whack in straight on there and get a new front half of tailshaft. (not that expensive in the scheme of things) Then sell your 1j box to someone with a 1j![]()
Plenty of people get slip before 300rwkw with 1j boxes so I personally wouldn't want one behind a 2jz.
There was a thread a while back about 2jz vs 1jz stallies. Either search through that or ring Mike at MV's to get the lowdown on what can and can't be done.
my 2.2c
I agree.
My soarer slipped like shite with 200RWKW. Id have at least that in my aristo and the auto is smooth and the fluid is always clean.

I think people underrate 1jz boxes my 1jz box lived very happily for very long time behind a 1jz with gt35 and some nos only with a shift kit and a tranny cooler. Thanks alot guys i m just trying to find a way (cheapest easiest) how to slot in a gearbox behind a 2jzgte in a mx83 grande so my speedo works (seems easy enough) abs (by using an aristo box i ll have dramas) and trying to use a slip on yoke. So so far cheapes and most feasible option would be 1jz soarer box where i get to have my cake and eat it too))
