Does your car have "one touch" windows? i.e. push the button and the door goes all the way up and vice versa"? Mine does, and it has an extra box in the door my window loom plugs into.
Hellllloozzzz
Been playing with/cleaning my power window switch as doobs was saying how on page 162 of the z20 thread.
Now i have it all back together i tested ... still nothing no movement at all
So, next step is to strip some sections of all wires going to switch, and test with a multimeter.
I did this on both drivers and passenger side switches for the windows, when the button is pressed for drivers or passenger side window , there is no voltage what so ever going through the wires to the switch.
I checked ALL fuses in drivers kick panel and passenger as i couldnt tell which was for power windows (no markings on my fuse map), none are blowen all are perfect
I dunno waht to do next, anyone know if there is a power window module or something somewhere else that supply's the motors/switches with power ?
Any help , much appreciated.

Well the passenger side is "manual" it doesnt have an Auto option like Drivers side does
and there is no voltage going to that either ...

id more be looking for power going INTO the swtich, depending on how its run, it should only be there when the key is turned to "ON"
that'll tell you whether your switch is bung, or whether your just not getting power at all.
from there, set your multimeter up to measure resistance, and connect it up to each side of the switch, if you push the switch, and the resitance doesnt change, the contacts/switch are borked.
Elmo.
Correct. But where do you think it gets the power from? Everything comes through the master then out through the passenger then back.Originally Posted by coFF33

eldar , there is no power in ANY of the wires leading to the back of the switch
nathan, good point.
fuck this is annoying !!
remove switches from both doors - clean contacts with metho and adjust the spring bits to give the switches a decent contact.
are you checking for voltages with the ignition switch/key set to IGN? they (windows) wont work on Accessories.
Also checking the engine bay fuses. Is everything else working in the car? central locking and so on?

then thats your problem.Originally Posted by coFF33
theres no point in looking at the switch any further man, your switch just isnt getting any power, find out whats happened to the units power source, fix that, and it should all be fine and dandy.
trace the unit back through the door jamb, it should lead straight to the fuse block next to the accel pedal, i know these things have a relay, so test it out to see if the relays fucked by swapping another one in.
Elmo.
well i tested the motors just then , according to the guide from cygnus and some of u suggested
The motors work fine.
There is still NO power going from kick panel fusebox to the plug that connects to the switch (on the door)
These are the wire pinouts.
Its hard to tell which is the "lead in power" from the fuse box to the switch
can anyone read this well enough to tell me whats the rite wires to be looking at ?
Thanks.
Heres the relays and kick panel fuses etc...
Cant see anything saying windows. ...
Aren't there fuses/relays/CBs behind the passenger side kick panel too? I thought that's where most toyotas had the power window fuses
I am the sun
Hi Dale, Nah , i have checked there ...
Nothing to do with power windows.
the main switch (drivers side) goes to the drivers side kick panel
There is
1x Blue w/blackstripe
1x Blue w/yellow stripe
1x yellow w/bluestripe
1x green w/red stripe <---- Power output - or + for motor
1x red w/white stripe <---- Power output - or + for motor
1x white w/black stripe
ok, i disconnected and reconnected the plug to the fusebox (drivers side kick panel) that runs the wires through the door jam into the switch
the drivers side window is fine
The passenger side window (which was the 1st to stop working)
works for a little bit, then jus stops
I believe the motor is fucked in it , as when i reach in and feel the motor , the solenoid is boiling hot and the window doesnt move,
once the solenoid cools down , the window will work
