maybe drive in a hardware place and try all diff nuts onto your thread and see which it is. Then buy a bolt which fits that nut and take the bolt everywhere with you to see if the gear knob will fit in that thread.![]()
im after a new gearknob, a weighted metal one to remove some vibration noise from my current plastic knob, and ive not found anything that is specifially 'toyota' branded that will fit...
however, i have found a 10 x 1.5 threaded knob (http://www.srtmotorsports.com/catalo...oducts_id=4468) and am wondering if it will fit.
does ayone know the 'toyota' thread measurement? or better yet the T50 one?

the ae82 is 10 x 1.25.
i baught a gearknob cheap with the wrong thread, luckily it was smaller, so i drilled out the thread and tapped it. perfect fit.
edit: causion regarding metal knobs: they get VERY VERY hot in the summer. but this will make u learn how to shift gears quiker![]()

The AE86 one is M10 x 1.25 also
Garth, I didn't think you could live with yourself if you used a non-TRD/Toyota item? Ran out of money?
I am considering the TRD short shifter, comes with TRD gear knob also. Any good?
I made a aluminium knob once, and being in Tassie the problem was it was too COLD.
haha jonny
i dont mind using other brands, to be honest the TRD shortshifter one is too plastic
the leather is nice but the plastic its made from rattles like a bitch over 5000rpm
so im going to a c's and getting a weighted knob
so the 10 x 1.5 wont fit? bugger

get a standard S15 saliva knob, they are awesome! heavier than standard and trimmed in leather.
serious? has the correct thread?
got a pic of one by any chance?
