Will be fine ,its not a thread locker like 262 but thats where the torque to yeild flywheel bolts of the JZ come into play.

Ok, normally i would use another type of thread sealant on the crank bolts, but i dont have any left and i dont want to buy an entire bottle of it for 8 bolts.
Hence anyone think that Loctite 567 wont be up to the job?

I don't see why not.

Hmmm... if someone was foolish enough to not use thread sealant on his 2JZ crank bolts, would that explain a slow oil drip from the bellhousing even after replacing the rear main seal?

I highly doubt it.

So far as i know yes, its an open ended crank into the oil gallery.Originally Posted by Norbie

Ill be using ARP bolts, so TTY isnt so much of an issue. That said i hope 567 will work.
In the past ive used 569 which is a high pressure high temp hydraulic sealant with threadlocker: http://www.ellsworth.com/display/pro...2&Tab=Products

If this is the case, its feasible.Originally Posted by takai
But I've never had a crank leak and I haven't always used sealant.

I doubt it would leak that much...it may tho...Originally Posted by Norbie
It might leak out onto your clutch and cause issues there however...I had this happen to me!

567 is thread tape in a tube.It may or may not work but its not the sort of thing I would put near to the inside of an engine. Any sort of threadlocker would have to be a better option as a sealer.
Save the 567 for when you are putting the air fittings on your rattle gun.

Yes, I just got my new twin plate clutch and it specifies it in there for this reason.Originally Posted by Norbie

Just bumping this up wondering what people have used for their bolts without a problem...
Manual for my clutch specifies adhesive 1324?
If money is the root of all evil.... then why do they pass the collection plate around in church
The stock Toyota stuff is precoated.
But Toyota tend to use loctite 243 on other thread that need sealing...

are the threads somehow linked to pressure gallery? or just crankcase?
Just crankcase.Originally Posted by jeffro ra28
