with the head studs i do them hand tight with the allen key (using the arp moly lube)
with the main studs i have always had the machine shop do them becuase i get them to line bore it at the same time.

Finger tight is fine, although it won't hurt to nip them up a bit with the allen key. They will rotate slightly when you torque the nuts down.

As mentioned, finger tight only on the studs, as per ARP recommendations.

Will check when the head comes off in a few weeks but i put the grease it came with on them and didn't notice writing or Allen key hole then, Maybe i missed it or got ripped off.

    upside down des.
mine that i put in a couple of weeks back i lubed with the moly grease, tightened by hand, then used a 4.5mm allen key (i think) to do them up a wee bit tighter (nothing over the top)
