    Default z20/jza70 brake interchangability

had a search and didint come up with anything,

do a70 discs fit up without mods?

the guy at abs said that the jza70 and z20 pads look virtually exactly the same

    can anyone confirm asap?

    cheers

There a two different sized front brakes available on the a70/z20 chassis, on the supras all the JZA70s and MA70 had the larger ones, while some of the earlier GA70's had the smaller ones. IIRC soarers have the same smaller front brakes as the GA70's, a soarer guy might be able to confirm for me.

All the rears are the same, but the front disc are difference sizes on the small and larger ones. IIRC the calipers are also the same but the 'housing' or whatever you call it that the caliper bolts onto, which then bolts onto the hub is different to allow for the bigger/smaller disc. I'm not sure if this impacts on the pads, tho I'm pretty sure they are the same... best bet is to take one of you used pads into the shop and have them lay it over the full sized pic they will have in the order book.

IMHO Your best option is to get your hands on some larger a70 calipers and housing (which bolt up) and get the supra dics. As its easier to get replacement consumables for the supra brakes.

The rears on all A70/Z20s are the same...

However the fronts are different... The GA70/Z20s have smaller disks (270mm) than the JZA-MA70s (300mm), therefore the bracket that holds the caliper to the hub is different.

To use JZA-MA70 disks on a z20 you will need the bracket from the JZA-MA70... The piston/caliper is the same, so you can swap the bracket without disconnecting the lines if you dont want to bleed the system...
