    Just trying to find out if they are or not. Any help would be great thanks!

    Yes, Ive taken timing belts off and spun the crank around no damage or touching what so ever.

    ....think what you mean is non interference mate, and, yes, its non interference.

    All belt-driven Toyota engines are non-interference.

    while they might be "free spinning" they're not really free revving.. my stockie would only get about 7100 before valve bounce

    thats not bad for the 4ac they have tiny ports, one cam and are non crossflow. my old man had my sisters ae82 up to 90 ks in 2nd it had no tacho so who knows waht rpm it was on

    Pretty much all VVTi engines are interference, as is the 5VZ (not sure about the rest of the VZ's).

    From about the mid 90's onwards MANY toyota belt driven engines became interference.

    I have some serious doubts about the 20V blacktop engines being non interference also, I will check soon.
