If the bushed end is loose, simply shorten the removable inner tube by about 3mm. This will allow a greater crush on the bushes, and firm up the joint. If it is the ball end that is loose, you will definately need a new idler arm.

    cheers Chuck.

i had this problem with my MX23, the aftermarket manufacturer didnt make them anymore and no auto parts store could get them in from anywhere else.

this place was suggested to me any this is my experience with them taken from the old forums back in april 2005.

I just like to say that i just got off the phone with the fellas at

    Turner Driveshafts & Steering
    7 West St Brookvale 2100 (02) 9905 0574

and they are able to rebuild my corona idle arm even tho they dont make them or the bushes anymore

he managed to hunt down a bush thats the correct size and is rebuilding now as well as reco-ing the ball joint.

he has then offered to post the idle arm back to me when its done to save me from driving all the way to brookvale again

    all for $95

Keep your eye out on US ebay. I bought an idler for a TA22 off there and had it over here for around $70 I think. Ended up selling it a couple of months ago for $60. Some guy in the UK bought it actually . Crazy!

    Anyway here you go

It looks like they don't ship out of the US but if your desperate and can't source one in aus then there are forwarding postal services in the US you can use.

Sorry for the late reply busying working away on site. Thanks for all the replies. The car is Fixed and on the road again!

ChuckLandwehr idea worked at a closer look the rubbers were not being compressed so first just check with a washer and improved so shorten the tube and all fixed.

Yup the bracket is useless but nothing stopping you from unbolting the arm and bolting it to your existing bracket.
