Hey people
Just after an idea on 1UZ fuel economy.
Any details of the setup (car, approx weight, auto/manual, any mods/type of driving) would be appreciated.
I've done some searching and most of the details come up for big/heavy/auto Soarers and 15-20lt/100km which seems insane.
Cheers

I get 9l/100k on the highway
11-12l/100k around town
and about 32-37l/100k Driffting-autocross-track

Stock V8 Soarer aside from shorter ratio TT diff
thats a range of about 10.5 to 12.5l/100km
no info to add, but great thread, i have a conversion in mind for a stupid daily driver using a 1UZFE and auto box (to keep costs reasonable) and have been wondering about the fuel cost.
Thanks for the replies, yes that's the idea of this thread. I'm tossing up between half a dozen different options and currently unsure which way to go. I'd like to say that running costs aren't a concern, but even at $1.50/litre it's not cheap to run a car... much less at the higher prices likely in the next few years.

This is probably the most-asked noob question on Soarer Central...
Most replies I have seen seem to say 10-14 L/100km.

Ok so it looks like a manual 1UZ in an RT142 would be a pretty OK thing, I have fairly detailed pics of an 1UZ->RA65 conversion and it all looks fairly straightforward.

Correct and for so much more car . still 12 on the hwy gets expensive after a while . the soarers seem to be a little better on the hwy verse the crowns , i first thought yeah the weight diff but i think its more the crowns athmatic exhaust system .

I used to get pretty consistent 10lt/100km touring in the GT8. An accumulation of changes with no tune tweaks to refine economy have it a bit higher now.
A uz swap into anything sub 1500kg with prog ECU should easily get 10lt/100km or better.

iv had 3 1uzfe engines all in different cars....and for a v8..they are pretty econimcal....15l to 20l...is way out...about 12 to 13l per 100km is about right...highway even better.

Exactly... its more about the weight of the car & engine tune than the capacity and cylinders the engine has.Originally Posted by JustenGT8

I think better than 10L/100KM should be doable since the car only weighs ~1200kg.

Yup all round economy was noticeably better in the GT8 with the TTUZ over the 3SGTEOriginally Posted by MWP
