1JZ-GTE Alternator Price?

Does Bosch or someone make an off the shelf 1JZ Alternator Replacement?

Anyone got a part number and price? ($200-$300'ish??)

Get your stock one re-conditioned by an auto electrician, will be as good as a new one and only $100 - $200.

Chris my auto-leccy mate has rebuilt two 1JZ alternators for me now, new bearings, regulator and brushes cost $100 in parts alone and hes done them for $120.

if you ask real nice it might come back looking like this...



let me know if you want yours rebuilt...

shane, in short its two bolts, one nut and one plug. (after the serp belt is off)
its a pretty simple exercise.

to install (reverse order to remove)

the alternator has two axis's (mounting points) as you can see in the first pic. the lower axis is actually a shaft that the alternator slides onto and can pivot on. once its on this shaft you secure the the alternator by attaching the 2nd point to your water pump. (using a bolt) then you put the nut on the shaft at the bottom point so it cant move.

once its on its just a matter of putting the positive terminal on it (and 12mm nut) and then the big round plug in the back of it. you can see the terminal and the plug in the pic below. ignore the three other little nuts on the back, they just hold the backing cover on.

im pretty sure i remember the part number but to confirm, can somebody please tell me the numbers from a 1j alternator so i can cross referance to 100% im right...

also rang for a price today, was told 320+gst
