Flywheel, intake, distributor, engine mounts & brackets, etc were on the motor in the pics... That could definately be the difference.

I weighed an ST205 3S-GTE with no manifolds or accessories and it was around the 100kg mark, but I can't find the photos right now.

Andrew, I thought he said that the intake wasnt in it but I reread it and youre right, I didnt even think of the alternator.

Mos: that sounds like its roughly in line with the web link posted. It amzes me that a 3sge engine bare might only weigh 12kg more than a 20V, that has to be much lighter than an aluminium block sr20

something else I want to weigh some time too

I weighed the SR20DE block (complete bottom end) with no head or accessories. Comes in at ~68kilo's on my bathroom scales.

Will weight a head when I get one

    crank is 18.5
block with crank and rods and pistons 85 kilos head is 35 kilos with cams etc

hehehehe......... I love this conversation..... I did a resto on a 1970 428 SCJ Mustang....

It had a 390 in it when I got it, so I had to purchased a 428SCJ - block, heads, pistons, rods crank (in essence a long block) shipping weight was 705#s(320 kilos)

I'd be interested to know how much extra my 3SGTE & E53 weighs compared to my 4AGE & C5x.

Allegedly my AE82 was 975kg stock (has anyone actually weighbridged theirs to confirm?) so I'll have to weight it when it's done and I guess that'll tell me the difference.

I would be stoked if it was only 20kg for the engine and 10kg for the box... but I had heard there will be more like 100+kg difference.
Must.... avoid.... urge... to... upgrade... parts I haven't.... used.... yet.....

Well my SR16VE came in at over 130kg. Manifold, cast iron header (4-2), crank pulley, wiring etc. No flywheel. Its stouty!

Cast Iron Header with shield weigh in at 10kgs.
