Sparco sprints are good value and ADR/FIA approved. They have high shoulder harness through holes which suit a taller framed person better.
Looking to make a list of my options for aftermarket ADR seats.
This will help me in making a short list of seats to try and go and sit in before buying

Recaro ... no ADR's, l don't think so they are used in by new car makers and the prices they charge they would want to be approved.

The Sprint V is not ADR approved, they are FIA approved. I have two of them in my car which replaced a set of ADR approved SAAS recliners.
Surprisingly you can buy some real shitters these days that are ADR approved. I guess they meet the minimum requirement to acquire the ADR tag and nothing else.
Of the ADR approved seats you listed the only one I would look at is the Velo range. Sit in an OBX seat, especially the fixed back models and you'll not want one![]()
Are any of the Cobra range ADR approved? They make nice seats and my car had them at one stage and was regoed and engineered with them on the paper work and my hazt memory tells me they were ADR approved.

I've had some of the justjap ones, i don't know id anything has changed since, but the seats were "ADR approved" yet not tagged as such. Autotechnica ones do have tags.

I managed to have my Bride Ergo 1.5 & Brix 1.5 engineered. They did come with proper Bride rails to suit my car however (which is why I bought them in the first place).
Are you looking at fixed or reclinable? Height is an issue with a lot of aftermarket seats, as is finding appropriate rails.

Yeah at the moment I'm not really fussed on brand, and even to some extent cost so much, I just want to be able to go and put my bum in a number of seats (need to find out what seats are options, and then find places that have said seats), and go from there.
I thinking about a fixed bucket atm, and I realise in xA6x that means going to 2 seaters, which also doesn't worry me. At the same time if I come across a recliner that I like I'm in no way opposed to it
Yeah I must admit I chuckle at the idea that a seat can be 'good' enough for racing (FIA), but not ok to get from your house to said racetrack on the road.
Really hits home as to how dangerous the road is(Or how silly the rule makers are?

while we're mostly on topic, what do people reckon of the sprint V for, say, a trip from sydney to ballarat?
Factory supra seats are nice and comfy... I'm considering keeping them to swap back in for interstate trips.
I drove to Dubbo and back in my Sprint V for Toyota Nationals and it was great. I find them very comfy but that's not to say everyone would be the same. Seats are a very personal thing as far as comfort goes.
That's partly the reason I bought one to start with as if it turned out to be no good I'd relegate it to passenger duties and try something else. After a lot of KM's in it I was extremly happy with the comfort and support so bought another one. The other seat I was looking at was the Ultra (Tec) by sparco but I sat about an inch higher in that so it was no good for my car.
Most of the Sparco/Cobra seats etc I sat in felt good, the SprintV just got me low and was quite narrow which suited my tall slim build.
Edit: The Sprint V was one of the best upgrades I've made for the track too. Soooo much better than fighting to stay in a normal seat and my old seats were quite supportive anyway.

I have a copy of the ADR test from the company that performed the test for the Sparco importer. It also lists a number of other sparco models. I'd scan it but I don't have a scanner. If you need a copy I'd be happy to fax it to you.Originally Posted by wilbo666
