    Talking 2jzgte hilux conversion

Hey guys i am putting a 2jzgte into my rn90 Hilux i know a couple of these have been done before but all conversions are different what we will be starting with is a 2jzgte motor loom and computer with an auto box which will be getting chucked out and we want to use a w58 gear box because that will bolt straight in and then make engin mounts from there hope fully we can find a bell housing or a complete non turbo box they are suppose to be pretty rare also i would like to put a set of R33 front calipers on whitch i all ready have is that possible but any way here is the car and i will keep posting the progress

Bellhousing shouldn't be hard to find, soarers, supra's chaser's all came out with 1/2jz's and R154's. i think the "R" series hilux box is called a R150. I'm only guessing at this stage, i'll start finding "fact's" once i've finished my first project

r series box's even though they are stronger i would like to keep prices down and with the car being light in the back with ally tray it wont get much traction so a w series box should do the trick

you can use a 2jzge gearbox or at very least the bellhousing off of one. I think you can get them new for around 400 but don't quote me on that.

this car wouldnt have had a R series gearbox.

    behind the original 22R motor, probably a w56 or a L50-something.

another note is that you cant use an r154 bellhousing on a R150 since the R150 input shaft is too short

You can even use the G52 behind the 2JZ , how long it will last depends how hard its thrashed.

I'm reasonably pro-auto behind these things.. .really helps with traction.

Can't help with your gearbox dilemmas though.

good luck, she's a pretty tight fit

With an auto it is a real tight fit
If you are running a manual there is a guy in canada who make mounts to bolt the motor and box in.
