Hi and welcome,
There is a fair bit of information about these type of engines. Look for 2TG 3TG hybrid. (Or actually just hybrid would probably do!)
Several people here will be able to tell you more than me as I have only been researching like you!
At the moment probably the biggest issue for me is fly cutting the 3T pistons so they dont hit the larger valves on the 2TG head. The other thing that you will need is the timing gear which you will be able to get from a 2TG motor (timing chains guides and cover)
Basically you can take the 2TG which was a 1600 twin cam ( when on the 2T block) and make it into an 1800 using the 3T block and fly cutting the pistons. Here all you really need is the 3T crankshaft but since you have the whole 3T then best to use it. I believe that the next part is openning up the bores and getting oversized pistons which can get you to 2 L and then I think that stroking it can get you to 2.2L ? Or so I am led to believe.
With regard to the EFI vs Carbs? I am going carbs.... Ask Rodger about them he is the man ...... His site is http://rmcarburetors.net/
Go the carbs.... if you are going EFI then probably a 4AG is a better engine than a 2TG/3TG hybrid.
Hope this helps
Nathan
