just use a sandwhich plate. easy and cheap,
you can also get the plates with thernostats in them to aid in the oil reaching operating temp quicker......this is how i run mine.
Chasing info on how others have fitted engine oil coolers to their 1GGTE. Have you used sandwich plates or are their input and output pick up points available?

I'd be very surprised if Motorsport Connections didn't have something to suit your needs.

Im just setting up a remote oil filter/oil cooler on ma 1g at the moment,
does anyone have any advice on whether to run pump-filter-cooler-block or should i go pump-cooler-filter-block. thanks for any advice., also i was considering putting in a small accumulator, do you think this would be worth it for a hill climb/circuit car?
GA23(never finished-now with cracked block) JZX83 (Tyre eater) 3sgte AE86. by now i should know better.
This is theory only and a passing thought but I would be tempted to try a 3T-GTE sandwhich plate.
The 1G and 3T take the same oil filter![]()

Ebay has them.Few on there at the moment.

On the topic of oil coolers.. I always think its a good idea to measure your oil temps first before going to the trouble of a cooler..
I was dead set on having an oil cooler on the 3sgte as it hits up a reasonable amount of track days..
I fitted a VDO oil gauge in the sump and i've done numerous wakefield and eastern creek days, often in 30 + deg days and never had the oil over 105 deg. This is after 8 - 10 hot laps.
Admittedly I have a 6.5ltr sump on the 3s, but just throwing it out there that sometimes its worth deciding if its actually needed first.
Once you fit an oil cooler there is a lot more failure points.. more oil line, joints, etc.
i was just going to fit one when i fitted up all my gauges etc.
So do u rekon the go is to get the justjap cooler kit and get a sandwich thermostate??

I'd have never needed one for on the street though, the temps never got above operating temp.
Added bonus is the oil cooler aids in coolant temp at the track too, very much needed on the little KE with small frontal cooling area and tiny sump volume.
