    Default 1ggte:TD05 vs T3/T4

    Im just looking for a bit of advice on selecting a turbo for my daily driver GA70 supra with
    1ggte engine, I have all the supporting mods now I just need to pick a turbo. It's between either a TD05-16g, TD05-20g and a T3/T4 57 trim below is the specs for the T3/T4 and TD05-20g


    T3/T4 57 trim
    .50 A/R compressor.
    .63 A/R V-band exhaust housing.
    57 trim T04E compressor wheel.
    6psi wastegate actuator (adjustable)
    Intlet measures 3.00"
    Outlet measures 2.00"


    TD05-20g
    68mm outlet exducer
    52.65mm outlet inducer
    55.85mm inlet inducer
    48.92mm inlet exducer
    2.50" inlet
    Adjustable wastegate actuator

    The car is auto and I am looking for good response above everything else but I would also like to know what sort of power each one could produce at 1 Bar. I did a search and found out that the gt28 is highly recommended as a good all round choice, are either one of these 2 turbos a suitable equivalent?

    Any help or advice on this would be greatly appreciated,

    hey on garagedori.com theres a guy called waz he went from t3t4 to a t28 as he found it to laggy it was manual tho i think he is on here also

    i had a t3t4 on my auto didnt find it to bad on boost but only drove it once

    Get a ball bearing GT28RS or 2871R. They spool brilliantly and in the 2871R trim support 440hp.

    Out of those 2 turbo's you definately want to be going with the TD05 as the T3/T4 would be very laggy on a 1G.

    But for a good turbo on a 1G I'd be listening to Kedderz on this one.

    If it were me, I'd probably look at a KKR380. Most people with the KKR stuff seem to be happy, it'd be responsive and performant, and about 3/5 the price of the Garrett stuff.

    That also is another good option too...

    Nothing beats a Super T-70. I mean there is lag but when it comes on it kicks like an angry horse!

    Definately go with the TD05H-20G if you can get it cheap enough.

    Will go to 220-240rwKw with excellent Boost response.

    Otherwise the GT28R range is also a very good option if its not much more $$$.

    thanks for all the replies, yeah I heard that the gt28 was the one to go for but they are way out of my price range. I asked a few workshops and tuning shops for advice and they all said to go for the t3/t4. Theres only like a $70 difference between the two turbos. what kind of rev range would a super t-70 begin to build boost at? I want a turbo that makes the most power at the same rpm (or lower) as the ct12's.

    There is no way a t3/t4 will build boost at a similar threshold as the ct12s, they are TINY. If price is an issue get a kkr380

    wow 4500-5000 thats high! Most of all it has to be drivable. Im probably going to use a TD05-20g.

    Yeah it seems high, but its actually quite driveable, well I spose coz its in a KE30 weights nothing, but off boost its still quite perky. Then you just wait a bit and the thing is all over the road.

    Out of interest has anyone here done a KKR380 on the 1g? I had a quick look at the stats and my initial reaction to them is that they would be a lag monster...I just bought a GA70 yesterday and was suprised how long the turbos take to come online for a stock car as is... (around 4200)

    ..perhaps the best thing to do is check what others have done and how they've reacted to similar setups to yours...can I ask hpw you narowed down your list and why theres no 'disco potato' on it? (GT28RS)
