    Default Valve seat cutter use?

Anybody got experience using neway valve seat cutters on the toyota valve seats (7M in my case)?

How hard do you have to press when turning the cutter around?

Do the cutters need regular replacement?

I bought a second hand set and dont know how sharp the cutters are relative to a new set.

Im not fimilar with NEWAY only NEWEN and they had special tip grinders for their cutters. Not cheap tho.

Why is there any doubt? Does the cutter chatter on the seat? If it does, the pilot may not be tight enough, the cutter may be blunt or you may be applying incorrect pressure and or speed to the tool.

Neway cutters are mostly hand operated, although you can buy a power attachment.

Here is a link to the local distributor.

I haven't even used them yet, I have to order a pilot and a T handle so I cant say if they chatter or not yet.

Its really only the 60 degree cutter that I want to use to open the the throats up a little.

I will do the 45 degree seat just by hand lapping and the 30 degree top cut is already there.

The 30 & 60 are used to set the seat width - wide or narrow - how long it will last& how well it will dissipate heat & how well it will break thru the carbon buildup, and sets where the seat contacts the valve face - bottom or middle or top - how big the valve size really is compared to just saying that it is the width of the valve head.
'I've scrapped better.' John stated when asked about the car by the guy with the silver tipped cowboy boots!
