You may not have a short, but it certainly sounds like a bad earth. Has the car recently been repaired/repainted? Run around and undo each earth, clean and reconnect.

i have a 1990 diesel hilux that keeps blowing indicator fuses at random ,
sometimes when running , sometimes when i turn car off,can't find a short anywhere.
any ideas?

Also check the bulb holders and the indicator switch itself and the loom inside the column.

Will have nothing to do with the indicators.
Will be the reverse light switch wiring on the gearbox,
or if it's 4wd it may also be one of the switches on the gearbox for that.
They are on the same fuse,
quite often the wiring breaks and shorts out,
or melts onto the exhaust.

thank's for the reply's every one, problem seems to be sorted, not sure if it was the bad earth or not but i was fixing wiring probs to the stereo/clock and spotlights and now i'm not blowing fuses anymore , had few earth's undone maybe thats all it was?
