1/4 BSP?
my 20v stocko temp sensor is M12
Hey all
I've done a search, and cant find a listing, any idea what the thread is in the 3TGTE water outlet for the ECU Coolant temperature sensor?
Just trying to match up something suitable for an aftermarket ECU install.
Cheers
Phil

Nope... 3/8 18tpi NPT is just a bees-dick too big to fit, so i'm guessing its maybe metric M14 x 1.5? anyone confirm before I go searching auto parts stores for something to fit?

Oops, meant to say M16 x 1.5

Not sure of the thread, but I can tell you I have a delco temp sensor in mine out of a vn comodore, basically anything from vn-vs will fit as will camira. Also sv11 camy will also fit if your looking for the standard sensor.
Roger
VN commodore would make it M12 x 1.5, way smaller than the hole i'm looking at.
Oh hang on, which threaded port are you using: the one closest to the head or further away?
I recall years ago on my own 3TG using a delco/holden one, so your suggestion makes sense...

1JZ-rolla,
Yep the one closest to the head (where the thermo time switch used to sit) has a vn delco sensor in mine (just went out to double check), the one in the middle should be the same? and the one closest to the passanger side engine bay that I have my guage in is a strange larger thread.
come to think of it the centre one is an eletrical temp guage and the one closest to the passanger side engine bay was probable the original temp sensor. Yep that has a barsted thread, I took mine to pirtek and they could not match the thread with anything off the shelf forgot what they told me it was though.

Awesome Roger, that confirms exactly what I checked just now. Previous ECU used the odd threaded boss on the passenger side (with an adapter). The one you are using (M12) nearest the head was blanked off, I can get an off the shelf Tridon sensor that fits in there tomorrow. Middle one already has the dash-gauge sensor fitted.
Thanks for your help!
