Default Desperate Need Of Kouki Axles

ok I have just changed my diff centre and I was told it was a earlier model LSD in my AE86 with t series diff. BUT its a kouki diff as I found out tonight when I tried to drive it.. (GRINDE GRINDE)

anyways I wanting to know what cars in australia came out with axles that will fit?? Ive been told there is a later model celica that has disc brake rear has them. (I wasnt unsure there was a RWD live axle with disc brake rear.)

but anyway does a tarago or something have the same axle sizes?? Im desprite

    I NEED THEM ASAP

Nothing in Australia came out with them. ONLY the late spec AE86s had them. Good luck finding them.

AFAIK, no tarago ever came with a T-series diff. There is one that has an F-series, the YR22. Some RWD celicas came with T diffs but i'm pretty sure none of them come with Kouki axles. You can start searching for them here though...

Kouki axles came in AE95 4WD Corollas.
Good luck redrilling the axles for 4x114.3 rather than 4x100 though.

YR22 doesnt have T-series axles, they have F-series axles, wrong splines etc.
4WD corollas have the same bearing design as the JDM T-series. Its a start.

Yah, as Takai said, F-series axles are MASSIVE compared to weeny T-series ones. F's are about 27.5mm so there's no way you can use them.

Didn't know the AE95s had the same axles though so good call Takai. Even if the bearing diameter was different, it wont be a problem as you could just give the ID and OD of the bearing you need and a specialist could probably find a match for you.

The aftermarket bearings for the JDM diffs are around $70 each. Needs press too btw.

I looked and it you count the spline on the axle in these pics then you will see that the kouki AE86 axle is 26 teeth which is the same as the Fseries axle.

Guess which one is the T and which is the F?

however with some nifty machining, you could get splines recut (edit, and shaft necked down... not sure if that would make it prone to filure there tho... if it's forged, it's forged all the way thru... but what else can ya do.

how much do the AE86 axles weigh each? i can't imagine postage would be cheap from japan to Aus and AE86's aren't exactly that popular here... no really....

edit2, are there any axles about the right diameter BUT longer in length (and right size bearings)?? you could get it cut down and resplined.... might still cost abotu the same as shipping them
