hey dood,
Can you see the water leak on the ground? (Or do you have to keep topping it up).
Park car over a clean bit of concrete and see if there are any leaks to confirm its an external leak.
there is a water/coolant leak in my 18rg i ve sussed it out and noticed none of my hoses are wet and i presume it is my water pump
any advice would be great cheers guys

Hi,
Also check the welsh plugs on the block. You should see a tell tale water mark (rusty coloured if no inhibitor, or the colour of your inhibitor) around the engine somewhere - assuming it's an external leak.

The welch plug or core plug is the hole below.
If it leaking it would leave stains down the side. (Had this issue with my original 18RG)

Have a check of the link to see what fellow Toymodders have done. I used Chemiweld on some leak that I had in my old 18rg and she kept on going strong.

okay i checked and it isnt my welch plug no leaks coming from there most likely my waterpump but everything is too close and i cant see where its coming from dammit anyway i did a compression test on the motor and it came up with 135 psi throughout all four cylinders, what should it be? i read it should be at least 170 cheers guys
Just to confirm, there are welch plugs on both sides of the block. (like 3 on one side and 4 on the other or something)
is the water leaking from the front of the engine?
Can you pinpoint which part of the engine its leaking from?
Those figures seem awfully low. Did you have the throttle opened?

have you checked your heater tap? if you have one.
mine was leaking and the tracking along the hose back to the water pump
i ll track the heater tap today also no it was not on full throttle i ll try again today and yes i do thnk it is awfully low cheers guys for the help rep added
1) A water pump that is just on its way out might not leak until the engine is hot with some pressure in it.
2) Some welsh plugs might not be visible. On my 7mge there is one behind the starter motor; another at the back of the block and the engine has to come out; and there is another up front behind the cam gear.
