Default Tridon Thermo Fan Switch Catalogue

    Here it is, ENJOY!

These range from $50-$100ish, depending on what you get, where you go, and if you get trade.

They are VERY accurate, and VERY reliable.

do it ace, there is a rep in it for you.

maybeye start another thread that is more general, and other people can put their catalogs in too (unless CrUZida changes the topic of his) and it can be made a sticky, and everyone will be that little bit better off

    hmm this is awesome
what temperature should i be looking at for a 1ggte?
i need a m14 x 1.5 (just went and measured the bolt im using to plug the whole
also, how does wiring these up go to the thermo fan?
im assuming you earth one wire on the fan like normal and the other would connect to one of the pins on the switch
and the other pin can connect to your temp gauge in the cabin
is this right or am i in left field?

TFS106 is what I have in my 1UZ, and 95on/90off is what you should run in a 1G too.

You are in left right there.

These have nothing to do with the temp gauge.
Wire up a thermo using a relay.
And then these switches turn the relay on either through earthing it, or giving it power.
Depending on what switch you buy, and how you chose to wire it up.

    I went with a TFS168, normally open, 90 on / 85 off. Was $55.

    These can be found in Nissan Pulsar N12 1.3-1.6L (11/1982 - 07/1987) or Nissan EXA and ET 1.5L (10/1983 - 07/1987).

Im sure these could be had for $5 at any wrecker now that i know what im looking for.

here's a story from Bigworm about his travels...

I went for a TFS 106 (95 on 90 off) which is an M14 x 1.5 thread, then I found out I needed an M16 x 1.5 to screw directly into my upper sensor housing/coolant outlet.
So I ordered myself a 148 (same thing, 95 on 90 off), and as soon as I tried to tighten it up the bastard snapped clean off, leaving the threaded section in the housing & the other end in my hand. This one comes with an O ring, so it's not really designed to be done up too tight, but I was using a copper washer & the only 22mm socket I had was 1/2" drive, so it didn't take much force at all to snap it, the wall thickness where it snapped wouldn't have been 1mm I reckon.
So I went and grabbed another one, & this time was very careful doing it up. It sealed ok & turned my fans on, but my temp guage (VDO elec type) never makes it to 90 let alone 95! As a result my fans run almost ful time, which is giving me the shits.
So tomorrow I'm going to go & pick up a 157, which is a 100 on 95 off, and if this doesn't work I think I'll go back to the much dissed davies craig adjustable fan switch, as I've already spent about $70, not including the new one I'm getting tomorrow.

I'm sure my temp guage is accurate, (it's now installed in the upper radiator hose about 4" away from the fan switch) as it reads nothing (less than 40) until the thermostat opens then shoots straight up to 82 , which is what the thermostat is rated at, then creeps up to 88~89 when the fans decide to kick in. With the old radiator/fan/fan switch setup it'd sit on 90 quite comfortably until I gave it a thrashing and the fans would kick in somewhere between 95 & 100, but the old rad & fans struggled to bring the temp down to more normal temps.
So I was expecting with this new setup the fans would only kick in on the odd occasion when the spanky new rad couldn't cope & bring temps down pretty quick, but instead I'm driving around with the fans on about 70% of the time.

I'll let you all know how the new switch goes....

its an adjustable pressure switch that could be used to actuate a cluster of LED's (like a shift light) while racing to show you have had an oil pressure drop.

most factory oil pressure lights come on around 0.5BAR (7psi) but if u are racing at high rpm you've probably already done the damage at such low pressures/high rpm no matter how quick you can shut the engine down.
