dunno about 86 fitment, but on the ma61 245/265 looks phat(nb: phatness may not correlate to handling)
I have 14x7's on my one tonner.
Was running 195/60's on the front. Now running 185's due to the tyre place having 195's in stock (needed one Asap due to a tyre letting go)
and am running 235/60's on the rear. sidewall bulge on the rear of tough looking cars looks horn in my opinion.

195/60 is too big
good quality 185/60's, keeps rolling diamteter closer to standard.
do have any pics of a tire this size mounted on a 14x7?

Uh, 195/60/14 is the appropriate rolling diameter for an AE86

I ran 185/60's on my 14x7 MA61 wheels on my ae71 corolla for 40,000kms, felt sweet.
Start with your standard tyre and work out the wheel diameter. Looks like the ae86 came with 185/70-13 (185mm section width, 0.7 aspect ratio & 13" rim diameter. I think that gives you an overall wheel diameter of 589mm (185x0.7x2+14*25.4).
A couple of other tyres that are pretty close to this include:
- 185/60-14: 578mm wheel diameter
- 195/60-14: 590mm
- 185/65-14: 596mm
- 205/55-14: 581mm
195/60-14 looks a good match if you are after something with a slightly wider profile.
