    Default 4AGE - Advanced Specs

Just creating this thread so that a lot of the less commonly known specs can be noted down for future reference.
Measured up the head on my spare smallport the other day and here is some of the bits i measured:

    Head capacity: 39cc
Cylinder spacing (center to center): 89mm

Feel free to post other measurements as well.

(as measured by me with a digital vernier) I assume it's supposed to be 28.00mm

    Torque Wrench Settings:
    Cylinder Head Bolts
    First Stage: 29Nm
    Second stage: +90deg
    Third Stage: +90deg
    Camshaft Bearing Cap bolts: 13Nm
    Camshaft Sprocket Bolt: 59Nm
Inlet Manifold Bolts and nuts: 27Nm
Exhaust Manifold bolts and nuts: 39Nm
Timing Belt tensioner pulley bolt: 37Nm
    Main Bearing bolts: 60Nm
    ConRod nuts
    First Stage: 39Nm
    Second Stage: +90deg
    Flywheel Bolts: 74Nm
Oil Pump pickup pipe bolts and nuts: 9Nm
    Oil Pump cover screws: 10Nm
    Oil Pump Retaining bolts: 21Nm
    Crankshaft Puley Bolt: 137Nm
    Crankshaft Seal carrier bolts: 9Nm
    Sump bolts and nuts: 5Nm
    Oil Cooler Pressure Reg:
    Plug: 37Nm
    Adaptor Bolt: 54Nm
    Banjo Bolt: 29Nm
    Spark Plugs: 18Nm

I would also like to stress that when these torque setting are getting read that both the bolts and holes are free from grime and gunk etc as when the bolts are getting done up if they bind even at all then you will get a false torque wrench setting and you will blow gaskets etc - not good at all.

    Happy Mechanicing

I also found out today from toyota that the head bolts are not "torque to yield", meaning they can be reused provided the threads on them are clean and free from dirt, grime, etc as posted above.

i would not recommened reusing them! i have a box full of them in my shed! not worth destroying an engine for the sake of a few dollars spent on new bolts!

Dont have a deck height do ya ??

In my calculations to achieve a comp ratio of 8.92:1 (as close as i could get to 8.9)
    I have used......

    Bore: 81mm
    Stroke: 77mm
    Deck height : .95mm
    Gasket thickness : 1.2mm
    Head volume: 39cc

This is a bit of a "educated" guess. So if anyone can confirm this please do .

Ill let you know where im going with this later

that is incorrect! they are most certainly are torque to yeild
they can be reused, but must be measured, ill post up specs tonight when im near my manual. however they are also very cheap to buy new and well worth the security
