Dood, if you do any spirited driving at all..dont get the protex.
Hi,
Most auto chain stores Sell Bendix which are the higher priced, and have Protex as an Alternative.
Has anybody tried both, what is the difference with these pads, performance, wear?
Thanks.

cant say ive tried protex(never even herd of em to tell ya the truth) but bendix is the go hey... they are a lil more ruff on rotors (chew rotors faster than a cheap pad set but you will hardly notice that anyway) but stopping is better, less brake dust, the have a titainum stripe across the face of the pad which means no bedding in required. i use them on any car (personal preference) if you can find thenm, a cheaper option is bosch prake pads... still do the job well, little more brake dust, do require bedding in... at the end of the day like 7M-GTE MX73 said....Dood, if you do any spirited driving at all..dont get the protex.![]()
If in doubt, drift her out! Steer from the rear! less traction, more action! simple!

At work we can get protex for about 15 dollars and bendix for about 40.
Protex are ok for normal daily duties but anything harder and they just fade.
'sif you'd get Bendix pads, let alone worse o_0
The above opinion is just that - my opinion. It is not shared by any business that I am currently or have previously been involved with, nor any of their employee's.
I sell bendix brakes at work as well as Ferodo.
Any stock brake pads are going to fade.
The main difference between them is based on how long they last.

the big question is, what do you want them for?
street, "sprited street", street w/ track, or track?
there is some crossover, but generally pads just get a hell of a lot more expensive the closer you get to real track pads.
For pure street driving the protex were fine.
